Hi I’m Audrey Dawson, and I’m so glad you’ve found your way to aphmauplushie.com. A little about me: I grew up in a small seaside town on the U.S. East Coast, the kind of place where weekends meant beach walks and local craft fairs. I was always drawn to things that felt handmade, cozy, and collectible whether that was vintage board games, little plush characters, or quirky gadgets that caught my eye.
After finishing my bachelor’s degree in Communications at a mid-sized university, I took a marketing role at a toy-licensing startup in New York City. Every day I was surrounded by product launches, packaging prototypes and retail strategy which taught me a lot about how design, materials and user experience really matter in physical products. After several years there I decided to step away from the hustle of the city and moved to Asheville, NC, where I now live part-time, splitting my time between the mountains and a home office overlooking the forest.

Around 2025 I realized that I wanted to bring all my product-savvy, my love of comfort-and-collectibles, and my honest voice together in one place and so this blog was born.
How this site came to be
You might notice the domain name hasn’t always been a review-blog its past focus was collectible plushes and character-merchandise, and that sensibility still informs how I approach things here. Because I’ve been around the world of plush characters, themed merchandise and novelty items, I know how easy it is for something to look great in the photo and still feel disappointing once you unbox it.
That experience led me to start writing content not just for the “cute” or “trendy” factor, but for how products actually perform: the fabric, durability, comfort, packaging, shipping, return process, user-experience, and value for money. Since 2025, I’ve worked to make this blog a place where you’ll find honest reviews, real-world usage insights, and practical buying advice no fluff, just genuine impressions built from my own hands-on testing.
What you’ll find here
On the blog you’ll see reviews across a range of categories: yes, plushes and collectibles still make an appearance (because that’s where it all started), but I also cover everyday items that I believe deserve thoughtful review from home-comfort finds to lifestyle accessories and tech that doesn’t feel cold or impersonal. For each product I aim to answer: Does it look good? Does it feel good? Will it last? And is it worth buying?
I want you to feel confident when you click through a review link, knowing that I’ve personally handled the item (or, when I haven’t yet, that I’ll disclose it) and that I’m reporting from a “real-life” vantage, not a staged photo-shoot. My aim is to save you time, money and regret.
A little personal side-note
When I’m not testing a new product or writing a review, you’ll likely find me curled up on the couch with my tabby cat, Pixel, a mug of strong coffee at my side, and a stack of vintage toy packaging on the shelf behind me. I enjoy hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains when the weather allows, and I have a small collection of analog film cameras because sometimes materials and texture matter more than megapixels. My hope is that this sensibility comes through in the blog that you’ll feel like you’re chatting with a friend who’s genuinely interested in whether a product is going to work for you, not just whether it “looks good.”
Thank you for being here. I appreciate that you’re taking time to read my thoughts, and I hope this site becomes a go-to place whenever you’re wondering: “Should I buy this?”
